ۚ وَمَا كَانَ اسْتِغْفَارُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ إِلَّا عَن مَّوْعِدَةٍ وَعَدَهَا إِيَّاهُ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ أَنَّهُ عَدُوٌّ لِّلَّهِ تَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُ إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لَأَوَّاهٌ حَلِيمٌ

وَمَا

إِبْرَاهِيمَ

(by) Ibrahim
لِأَبِيهِ

(of) a promise
وَعَدَهَا
wa'adaha
he had promised it
إِيَّاهُ
iyyahu
(to) him
فَلَمَّا
falamma

تَبَيَّنَ

it became clear
لَهُ
lahu
to him
أَنَّهُ
annahu
that he
عَدُوٌّ
aduwwun
(was) an enemy
لِّلَّهِ
lillahi
to Allah
تَبَرَّأَ
tabarra-a
he disassociated
مِنْهُ
min'hu
from him
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
إِبْرَاهِيمَ
ib'rahima
Ibrahim
لَأَوَّاهٌ
la-awwahun
(was) compassionate
حَلِيمٌ
halimun
forbearing
