435 Hadith

The Creed (Aqeedah) is the foundation of Islam. These authentic hadiths define the pillars of faith and enlighten Muslims about what they must believe in their hearts.

#3389Authentic hadith· Narrated by Abu Daoud & Ahmad

‘Abdullah ibn ash-Shikhkhīr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I set out with the delegation of Banu ‘Āmir to meet the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). We said: You are our master. He said: "The Master is Allah." We said: And the best of us in superiority and the greatest among us in bounty. He said: "Say what you have to say, or part of what you have to say, but do not let the devil deviate you (in praising me)."

Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said to Mu‘ādh ibn Jabal as he was sending him to Yemen: "You will come to a people of the Scripture. When you reach them, invite them to testify that none is worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. If they obey you in that, tell them that Allah has enjoined on them five prayers every day and night. If they obey you in that, tell them that Allah has enjoined Zakah on them, to be taken from the rich amongst them and given to the poor amongst them. If they obey you in that, beware of taking their best properties; and fear the invocation of an oppressed person, for there is no barrier between his invocation and Allah.”

#3393Authentic hadith· Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said that "he will come (to his Lord), prostrate before Him, and praise Him [he will not start with intercession first]. It will then be said to him: "Raise your head, say and you will be heard, ask and you will be given, intercede and your intercession will be fulfilled."

#3395Authentic hadith· Narrated by Ibn Majah & An-Nasa'i & Ahmad

Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported: On the morning of ‘Aqabah, when the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was atop his she-camel, he said: "Pick up some pebbles for me." So I picked up seven pebbles for him, which were the size of pebbles used for flinging with fingers. He started shaking them in his hand and saying: "Throw the like of these." Then, he said: "O people, beware of immoderation in religion, for those before you were doomed because of immoderation in religion."

Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that when the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the 'Nushrah' (counteracting magic with magic), he said: "It is an act of the devil."

#3406Authentic hadith· Narrated by Bukhari

‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians exaggerated in praising the son of Mary, for I am only His slave. So, call me the slave of Allah and His Messenger."

#3407Authentic hadith· Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no contagion, nor is there any evil omen in birds, nor is there any evil omen in the owl, nor is there any evil omen in Safar, and run away from the leper as you would run away from the lion."

#3408Good hadith· Ibn Abi Shaybah - Al-Khattaabi

It was narrated that Al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy upon him) said: "No one can undo the magic except a magician."

#3412Authentic (Sahih)· Ibn Jareer - Adh-Dhahabi in Al-‘Uluww - ‘Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Hanbal

‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: "The seven heavens and the seven earths in the palm of the Most Merciful are no more than a mustard seed in the hand of one of you."

#3413Authentic hadith· Ibn Abi Shaybah in Al-‘Arsh - Adh-Dhahabi in Al-‘Uluww

Abu Dharr al-Ghifāri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Kursi in comparison to the Throne is only like an iron ring thrown in a desert on earth."

#3414Authentic hadith· Narrated by Bukhari

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, who will be the happiest of people to receive your intercession on the Day of Judgment?" The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I thought no one would ask me about this Hadīth before you, O Abu Hurayrah, given the keenness I have seen from you regarding the Hadīths. The happiest of people to receive my intercession on the Day of Judgment is the one who says, 'there is no god but Allah' sincerely from his heart or his soul."

#3416Authentic hadith· Narrated by Ahmad

‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Ās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever is prevented from doing something because of his belief in bad omens has thus committed polytheism. They said: What is the expiation of that? He said: It is to say: "O Allah, there is no good except Your good, nor omen except Your omen, and there is no god but You.’”

#3417Authentic hadith· Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim

‘Ubādah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever bears witness that there is no god but Allah alone with no partner and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger; that ‘Isa (Jesus) is the slave and Messenger of Allah, and His word which He communicated to Maryam (Mary), and a spirit from Him; and that Paradise is true and Hellfire is true, Allah will certainly admit him into Paradise, regardless of the deeds which he has done."

#3418Authentic hadith· Narrated by Muslim

Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever meets Allah without associating partners with Him will enter Paradise, and whoever meets Him while associating partners with Him will enter Hellfire."

#3419Authentic hadith· Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim

‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: "The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said something and I said another thing. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Whoever dies while invoking besides Allah another equal will enter Hellfire.' And I say: 'Whoever dies while not invoking besides Allah another equal will enter Paradise.'"

‘Abdullāh ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ruined are the extremists." He said it thrice.

#3421Authentic hadith· Narrated by Bukhari

Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported in explanation of Allah's statement: {And said: Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwā‘ or Yaghūth and Ya‘ūq and Nasr} [Sūrat Nūh: 23]. These are names of some pious men of the people of Nūh. When they died, Satan inspired their people to prepare and place idols at the places where they used to sit and to call those idols after their names. The people did so, but the idols were not worshiped till those people (who built them) had died and the original purpose for the existence (of those idols) had been forgotten

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no transitive disease and no evil omen, and I like a good omen." It was said: What is a good omen? He said: "A good word."

#3435Authentic hadith· Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The reward of a man's prayer in congregation is twenty five times greater than that of the prayer he offers in his house or market. That is because if he performs ablution thoroughly, then sets out for the mosque with the sole intention of praying, he will not take a step except he is raised one degree in reward, and one sin is removed from his account thereby. Then when he offers his prayer, the angels keep on supplicating Allah for him as long as he is in his place of prayer (saying): 'O Allah, Bestow Your blessings upon him; O Allah, forgive him; O Allah, have mercy upon him.' He is considered to be in prayer as long as he is waiting for prayer."

#3438Authentic hadith· Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim

Al-Barā’ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said about the Ansār (Supporters): "No one loves them except a believer, and no one hates them except a hypocrite. Allah loves whoever loves them and hates whoever hates them."
