Surah Al-Ahqaf 46:16 — translation and meaning

ۖ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنْهُمْ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا وَنَتَجَاوَزُ عَن سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ فِي أَصْحَابِ الْجَنَّةِ وَعْدَ الصِّدْقِ الَّذِي كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ

Transliteration

Ulaaa'ikal lazeena nata qabbalu 'anhum ahsana maa 'amiloo wa natajaawazu 'an saiyiaatihim feee Ashaabil jannati Wa'das sidqil lazee kaanoo yoo'adoon

Translation

Those are the ones from whom We will accept the best of what they did and overlook their misdeeds, [their being] among the companions of Paradise. [That is] the promise of truth which they had been promised.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

Those are the ones from whom I accept the good deeds they did and overlook their sins, so I do not seize them due to them. And they are amongst the people of Paradise. This promise they have been given is a true promise which will definitely occur.
