وَإِنْ أَدْرِي لَعَلَّهُ فِتْنَةٌ لَّكُمْ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَى حِينٍ

Transliteration

Wa in adree la'allahoo fitnatul lakum wa mataa'un ilaaheen

Translation

And I know not; perhaps it is a trial for you and enjoyment for a time."

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

I do not know whether your respite from being punished is a test for you, or whether it is to lure you further into destruction, and to give you freedom until a time decreed in the Knowledge of Allah, so that you persist in your disbelief and error.
