قَالُوا فَأْتُوا بِهِ عَلَى أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ

Transliteration

Qaaloo faatoo bihee 'alaaa a'yunin naasi la'allahum yash hadoon

Translation

They said, "Then bring him before the eyes of the people that they may testify."

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

Their chiefs said, “Bring Abraham in front of the people so that they may testify to his confession to what he did, and their confession will be your evidence against him.”
