Surah Al-'Ankabut 29:34 — translation and meaning

إِنَّا مُنزِلُونَ عَلَى أَهْلِ هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ رِجْزًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ

Transliteration

Innaa munziloona 'alaaa ahli haazihil qaryati rijzam minas samaaa'i bimaa kaanoo yafsuqoon

Translation

Indeed, we will bring down on the people of this city punishment from the sky because they have been defiantly disobedient."

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

I will send a punishment from the sky down on the people of this town that used to do obscene acts, which is stones of baked clay, as a punishment for their leaving out following Allah by the perpetration of that evil and immoral act, which was satisfaction of lust with men instead of women.
