Surah Al-A'raf 7:36 — translation and meaning

ۖ وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا عَنْهَا أُولَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ

وَالَّذِينَ

But those who
كَذَّبُوا

deny
بِآيَاتِنَا
biayatina
Our Verses
وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا
wa-is'takbaru
and (are) arrogant
عَنْهَا
anha
towards them
أُولَئِكَ
ulaika
those
أَصْحَابُ
ashabu
(are the) companions
النَّارِ
al-nari
(of) the Fire
هُمْ
hum
they
فِيهَا
fiha
in it
خَالِدُونَ
khaliduna
will abide forever
Transliteration
Wallazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wastakbaroo 'anhhaaa ulaaa'ika Ashaabun naari hum feehaa khaalidoon
Translation
But the ones who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
As for the disbelievers, who reject Allah’s signs, and do not have faith in them, too proud to act in accordance with what their messengers bring to them, they are the companions of Hell, where they will live eternally.
