Surah Al-A'raf 7:9 — translation and meaning

وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنفُسَهُم بِمَا كَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَظْلِمُونَ
Word by Word
وَمَنْ
waman
And (for) those
خَفَّتْ
khaffat
(will be) light
مَوَازِينُهُ
mawazinuhu
his scales
فَأُولَئِكَ
fa-ulaika
so those
الَّذِينَ
alladhina
(will be) the ones who
خَسِرُوا
khasiru
lost
أَنفُسَهُم
anfusahum
themselves
بِمَا
bima
because
كَانُوا
kanu
they were
بِآيَاتِنَا
biayatina
to Our Verses
يَظْلِمُونَ
yazlimuna
(doing) injustice
Transliteration
Wa man khaffat mawaazeenuhoo fa ulaaa'ikal lazeena khasirooo anfusahum bimaa kaanoo bi Aayaatinaa yazlimoon
Translation
And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
Those whose bad actions weigh more than their good actions are the people who have lost themselves, gaining their destruction on the Day of Judgement and being excluded from eternal bliss because of their rejection of Allah’s signs and verses.
