Surah Al-Furqan 25:17 — translation and meaning

الفرقان · Verse 17 / 77 · Page 361

وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ فَيَقُولُ أَأَنتُمْ أَضْلَلْتُمْ عِبَادِي هَؤُلَاءِ أَمْ هُمْ ضَلُّوا السَّبِيلَ

Word by Word

وَيَوْمَ

And (the) Day
يَحْشُرُهُمْ
yahshuruhum
He will gather them
وَمَا
wama
and what
يَعْبُدُونَ
ya'buduna
they worship

فَيَقُولُ

and He will say
أَأَنتُمْ

Did you
أَضْلَلْتُمْ

My slaves
هَؤُلَاءِ

ضَلُّوا

السَّبِيلَ
al-sabila
(from) the way

Transliteration

Wa Yawma yahshuruhum wa maa ya'budoona min doonil lahi fa yaqoolu 'a-antum adlaltum 'ibaadee haaa'ulaaa'i am hum dallus sabeel

Translation

And [mention] the Day He will gather them and that which they worship besides Allah and will say, "Did you mislead these, My servants, or did they [themselves] stray from the way?"

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

On the day when the rejecting idolaters will be gathered, together with whatever they worshipped instead of Allah, He will say to those worshipped, scolding those who worshipped them, “Did you lead My servants astray by commanding them to worship you, or did they go astray of their own accord?”
