قَالُوا رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَالِّينَ

Transliteration

Qaaloo Rabbanaa ghalabat 'alainaa shiqwatunaa wa kunnaa qawman daaalleen

Translation

They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

They will say: “Our Lord, our wretchedness which had already passed in Your knowledge overcame us, and we were a people astray from the truth.
