وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن سُلَالَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ

Transliteration

Wa laqad khalaqnal insaana min sulaalatim minteen

Translation

And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

Verily, I created the father of mankind, Adam, from clay. I took the soil he was created from, from a mixture of water and the soil of the earth.
