وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَاهُم بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ

بِالْعَذَابِ

with the punishment
فَمَا

but not

لِرَبِّهِمْ
lirabbihim
to their Lord
وَمَا

يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
yatadarra'una
