Surah Al-Mu'minun 23:75 — translation and meaning

وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَاهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّ لَّلَجُّوا فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ

We had mercy on them
وَكَشَفْنَا
wakashafna
and We removed

بِهِم

(was) on them
مِّن

ضُرٍّ

(the) hardship
لَّلَجُّوا
lalajju
surely they would persist
فِي
fi
in
طُغْيَانِهِمْ
tugh'yanihim
their transgression
يَعْمَهُونَ
ya'mahuna
wandering blindly

Transliteration

Wa law rahimnaahum wa kashafnaa maa bihim min durril lalajjoo fee tughyaanihim ya'mahoon

Translation

And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

If I were to have mercy on them and lift their famine and hunger, they would continue being misguided from the truth, being confused and stumbling.
