ۚ ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ السَّيِّئَةَ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ

Transliteration

Idfa' billate hiya ahsanus saiyi'ah; nahnu a'lamu bimaa yasifoon

Translation

Repel, by [means of] what is best, [their] evil. We are most knowing of what they describe.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

O Messenger, repel the one who is bad to you by the characteristic which is better, namely turning away from him and being patient with his harm. I know best the associating partners and denial they describe, and the unbefitting things they describe you with such as magic and insanity.
