ۖ فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَائِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ قَالَ رَبِّ نَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ

Transliteration

Fakharaja minhaa khaaa 'ifany-yataraqqab; qaala Rabbi najjinee minal qawmiz zaalimeen

Translation

So he left it, fearful and anticipating [apprehension]. He said, "My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people."

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

So Moses acted according to the instruction of the well-wishing man and left the city in fear and anxiety over what may happen. He said, beseeching his Lord, “O my Lord! save me from the oppressive nation, so that they cannot harm me.”
