Surah Ali 'Imran 3:141 — translation and meaning
آل عمران · Verse 141 / 200 · Page 68
وَلِيُمَحِّصَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَيَمْحَقَ الْكَافِرِينَ
Word by Word
وَلِيُمَحِّصَ
waliyumahhisa
And so that may purify
اللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
الَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
آمَنُوا
amanu
believe
وَيَمْحَقَ
wayamhaqa
and destroy
الْكَافِرِينَ
al-kafirina
the disbelievers
Transliteration
Wa liyumahhisal laahul lazeena aamanoo wa yamhaqal kaafireen
Translation
And that Allah may purify the believers [through trials] and destroy the disbelievers.
Verse interpretation (Tafsir)
A part of this wisdom of changing fortunes is the purification of those who have faith from their sins, separating them from the hypocrites, and destroying and removing those who reject the truth.
