Surah Muhammad 47:19 — translation and meaning

ۗ فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ وَمَثْوَاكُمْ

Word by Word

فَاعْلَمْ
fa-i'lam
So know
أَنَّهُ
annahu
that [He]
لَا
la
(there is) no
إِلَهَ
ilaha
god
إِلَّا
illa
but
اللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
وَاسْتَغْفِرْ
wa-is'taghfir
and ask forgiveness
لِذَنبِكَ
lidhanbika
for your sin
وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
walil'mu'minina
and for the believing men
وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ
wal-mu'minati
and the believing women
وَاللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
يَعْلَمُ
ya'lamu
knows
مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ
mutaqallabakum
your movement
وَمَثْوَاكُمْ
wamathwakum
and your resting places

Transliteration

Fa'lam annahoo laaa ilaaha illal laahu wastaghfir lizambika wa lilmu'mineena walmu'minaat; wallaahu ya'lamu mutaqallabakum wa maswaakum

Translation

So know, [O Muhammad], that there is no deity except Allah and ask forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and believing women. And Allah knows of your movement and your resting place.

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

Be certain, O Messenger, that there is no being deserving of worship besides Allah and seek from Allah forgiveness for your sins. Seek forgiveness from Him for the sins of the believing men and women. Allah knows your movements in the day and your resting place at night. Nothing is hidden from Him.
