5رمي الجمراتStoning of the Jamarat

HajjJamarat Bridge, MinaDay 10 of Dhul Hijjah (Yawm al-Nahr) - stoning Jamrat al-Aqabah

On the 10th of Dhul Hijjah (Yawm al-Nahr), pilgrims perform the first stoning ritual by throwing seven pebbles at Jamrat al-Aqabah (the largest pillar), saying "Allahu Akbar" with each throw. This act symbolizes the rejection of Satan, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim's defiance when Shaytan tried to dissuade him from obeying Allah's command. The Talbiyah ceases upon beginning the stoning on this day.

Practical Tips

  • 1Throw pebbles one at a time, saying "Allahu Akbar" with each throw.

  • 3Ensure each pebble lands in the basin around the pillar.
  • 4Do not pick up pebbles from around the Jamarat — use the ones collected at Muzdalifah.
