HajjDesignated slaughterhouses in MinaDay 10 of Dhul Hijjah, after stoning Jamrat al-Aqabah

After stoning Jamrat al-Aqabah, pilgrims performing Hajj Tamattu' or Qiran must offer an animal sacrifice (Qurbani/Udhiyah). This commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail in obedience to Allah, who then replaced the sacrifice with a ram. The meat is distributed among the poor, relatives, and the pilgrim. Today, pilgrims typically purchase a voucher and the sacrifice is performed on their behalf.
