Tawaf consists of seven counter-clockwise circuits around the Kaaba, beginning and ending at the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad). Upon entering Masjid al-Haram, the pilgrim recites the dua for entering the mosque. Men perform Idtiba (exposing the right shoulder) during this Tawaf, and Raml (walking briskly) during the first three circuits. The pilgrim touches or points to the Black Stone at the start of each circuit, saying "Bismillah, Allahu Akbar."
اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
Allahumma iftah li abwaba rahmatik
O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy (said when entering Masjid al-Haram).
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhaban-nar
Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire (recited between Rukn Yamani and Hajar al-Aswad).
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ
Bismillah, Allahu Akbar
In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest (said when touching or pointing at the Black Stone).
