ۚ وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ الْأَدْبَارَ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ اللَّهِ مَسْئُولًا

ۚ
وَلَقَدْ

And certainly

عَاهَدُوا

promised
اللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
مِن

before
قَبْلُ
qablu

لَا

يُوَلُّونَ

they would turn
الْأَدْبَارَ
al-adbara
their backs
وَكَانَ
wakana
And is
عَهْدُ
ahdu
(the) promise
اللَّهِ
al-lahi
(to) Allah
مَسْئُولًا
masulan
to be questioned
