ۗ وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوا مَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ قَالُوا بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا أَلْفَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا أَوَلَوْ كَانَ آبَاؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ
Mot a mot
ۗ
وَإِذَا
wa-idha
And when
قِيلَ
qila
it is said
لَهُمُ
lahumu
to them
اتَّبِعُوا
ittabi'u
Follow
مَا
ma
what
أَنزَلَ
anzala
has revealed
اللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
قَالُوا
qalu
they said
بَلْ
bal
Nay
نَتَّبِعُ
nattabi'u
we follow
مَا
ma
what
أَلْفَيْنَا
alfayna
we found
عَلَيْهِ
alayhi
[on it]
آبَاءَنَا
abaana
our forefathers (following)
أَوَلَوْ
awalaw
Even though
كَانَ
kana
[were]
آبَاؤُهُمْ
abauhum
their forefathers
لَا
la
(did) not
يَعْقِلُونَ
ya'qiluna
understand
شَيْئًا
shayan
anything
وَلَا
wala
and not
يَهْتَدُونَ
yahtaduna
were they guided
