ۖ فَأَتَتْ بِهِ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُ قَالُوا يَامَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْئًا فَرِيًّا

Then she came
بِهِ

قَوْمَهَا

(to) her people
تَحْمِلُهُ

carrying him
قَالُوا

They said
يَامَرْيَمُ
yamaryamu
O Maryam
لَقَدْ
laqad
Certainly
جِئْتِ
ji'ti
you (have) brought
شَيْئًا
shayan
an amazing thing
فَرِيًّا
fariyyan
an amazing thing
Translittération
Fa atat bihee qawmahaa tahmiluhoo qaaloo yaa Maryamoo laqad ji'ti shai'an fariyyaa
Traduction
Puis elle vint auprès des siens en le portant [le bébé]. Ils dirent: «O Marie, tu as fait une chose monstrueuse!
Interprétation du verset (Tafsir)
Elle se rendit ensuite auprès des siens en portant son fils. Leur réprobation leur fit dire: Ô Marie, tu as commis une faute affreuse en mettant au monde un enfant alors que tu n’es pas mariée.
