Jābir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Muezzin of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to delay the Iqāmah until he would see the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) coming out. On seeing him, he would pronounce the Iqāmah.

‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Muezzin is responsible for the Adhān, and the leader of the congregation is responsible for the Iqāmah."

‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah does not accept the prayer of any woman who has reached the age of menstruation unless [she is] veiled.''

Sa‘īd ibn al-Hārith reported: We asked Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh about praying in one garment and he said: 'I traveled with the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) on one of his journeys, and I came one night for something I needed and found him praying. I had one garment on me, so I wrapped it around myself and prayed by his side. When he finished, he said: "O Jābir, what has brought you here at night?" I told him of my need. When I finished, he said: "O Jābir, what is this wrapping up that I have seen?" I said: "It is a (tight) garment." He said: "If it is large enough, cover yourself with it; and if it is tight, use it as a waist sheet." The version narrated by Muslim reads: "If it is wide, cross its ends; and if it is tight, pull it around your waist."

‘Āmir ibn Rabī‘ah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: We were with the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey on a very dark night and we didn't know the direction of the Qiblah. So each man among us prayed in his own direction. In the morning, when we mentioned that to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) the following verse was revealed: {So wherever you turn, there is the Face of Allah.} [Sūrat al-Baqarah: 115]

Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray on his riding animal, regardless of the direction it was facing. When he wanted to perform an obligatory prayer, he would dismount and face the Qiblah.

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was on a journey and wished to offer voluntary prayers, he made his she-camel face the Qiblah, said Takbīr, and then prayed towards whatever direction his mount would face.

Abu Sa‘īd al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Once the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was leading his Companions in prayer when all of a sudden he removed his sandals and placed them on his left. When the people saw that, they threw off their sandals too. When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) finished his prayer he said: "What made you all throw off your sandals?" They said: "We saw you throw off your sandals, so we threw off ours." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibrīl (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) came to me and told me that they had some filth on them (or he said 'dirt')." Then the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When anyone of you comes to the mosque, he should look (at his sandals). If he sees any filth or dirt on his sandals, he should wipe it off and pray in them."

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If any of you treads with his shoes on something unclean, they will be purified with the earth."

‘Abdullāh ibn Ash-Shikhkhīr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I saw the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) praying and making a sound like the rumbling of a mill because of weeping.

‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) went out to Qubā' Mosque to pray in it. He added: "Some of the Ansār came to him and greeted him while he was praying." He then added: "I asked Bilāl: "How did you see the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) return their greeting when they greeted him while he was praying?" Bilāl said: "He made this gesture," and he stretched out his hand with the palm facing down and the back facing up.

Abu Qatādah al-Ansāri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I saw the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) leading people in prayer and carrying Umāmah bint Abu al-‘Ās, the daughter of the Prophet's daughter Zaynab, on his shoulder. He put her down when he wanted to bow, and he picked her up again when he got up after prostration.

Abu Bakrah Nufay‘ ibn al-Hārith Ath-Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) granted the traveler a concession to wipe over his leather socks with a wet hand for three days and nights when he had put his leather socks on in a state of purity, and the resident for a day and night.

‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Bilāl made a call to prayer before the break of dawn. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) therefore commanded him to return and make a call: "Lo! The slave of Allah slept. Lo! The slave of Allah slept."

Safwān ibn Ya‘lā reported: Ya‘lā said to ‘Umar: "Show me the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) while he is receiving revelation." When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was at Al-Ji‘irrānah accompanied by some of his Companions, a person came and asked: "O the Messenger of Allah, what do you say regarding a person who assumes Ihrām for ‘Umrah while he is heavily scented with perfume?" The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) kept silent until (the angel of) revelation came to him. Thereupon, ‘Umar beckoned Ya‘lā, who came while the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was covered with a garment as a shade. Ya‘lā put his head under the garment and saw that the face of the Messenger of Allah turned very red while he was groaning. When the Prophet was released from that condition, he asked: "Where is the person who asked about ‘Umrah?" A man was brought, and the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wash the perfume off your body thrice and take off the Jubbah, and do in ‘Umrah as you do in Hajj." So I asked ‘Atā: "Did the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) mean complete cleansing when he ordered him to wash three times." He said: 'Yes.'

#10868Authentic hadith· Narrated by Muslim

Talhah ibn ‘Ubaydullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: We used to pray and animals would pass in front of us. We mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) so he said: "If anything, like the back of the saddle, is placed in front of anyone of you, then nothing that passes in front of him (but behind that thing) can harm him."
