قَدْ كَانَتْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَى أَعْقَابِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ

Transliteration

Qad kaanat Aayaatee tutlaa 'alaikum fakuntum 'alaaa a'qaabikum tankisoon

Translation

My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels

Verse interpretation (Tafsir)

Verily, the verses of Allah would be recited to you in the world, but you would turn away from them when you heard them, in hatred for them.
