Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) entered the privy, a servant and I used to carry a waterskin and a pointed staff, and he would cleanse himself with water.

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Straighten your rows, for indeed, straightening the row is from the perfection of the prayer."

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any of you performs ablution, let him sniff water in his nose and then blow it out. Whoever cleans his private parts with stones, let him do so with an odd number of stones. Whoever wakes up from his sleep, let him wash his hand before putting it in the water container of ablution, for none of you knows where his hand was during his sleep." The wording of Muslim reads: "Whoever wakes up from his sleep, let him not put his hand in the water container until he washes it three times, for he does not know where his hand was during his sleep."

‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with them) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) departed on the day of ‘Arafah. So, the Prophet heard behind him loud shouts, beating, and sounds of the camels. So, he pointed with his whip towards them and said: "O people, proceed calmly, for goodness is not attained by rushing."

#3036Authentic hadith· Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a Bedouin came and urinated in a corner of the mosque. So, the people rebuked him. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) stopped them and when he finished urinating, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that a bucket of water should be poured over that place, and they did so.

#3039Authentic hadith· Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim

Anas ibn Sirīn reported: 'We received Anas [ibn Mālik] when he returned from Syria and met him at ‘Ayn At-Tamr. I saw him pray on a donkey, and his face was to this side, i.e. to the left side of the Qiblah. I said to him: "I saw you pray towards a direction other than the Qiblah!" He said: "Had I not seen the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) doing so, I would not have done it."

#3040Authentic hadith· Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim

‘‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to go by way of Ash-Shajarah and return by way of Al-Mu‘arras. He would also enter Makkah through the Higher Pass and leave through the Lower Pass.

‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: Umm Habībah had non-menstrual vaginal bleeding for seven years. She asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about that, and he ordered her to take a ritual bath. ‘Ā’ishah said: "She used to take a ritual bath for every prayer.”

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No one of you should urinate in stagnant water then take a ritual bath with it." Another narration reads: "No one of you should take a ritual bath in stagnant water while being in the state of major ritual impurity."

#3049Authentic hadith· Narrated by Muslim - Al-Bukhari and Muslim with its two versions

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I advise you to treat women kindly, for the woman was created from a rib, and the most crooked part of the rib is its uppermost part. If you try to straighten it, you will break it; and if you leave it, it will remain crooked. So, treat women kindly." Another narration reads: "A woman is like a rib: if you straighten her, you will break her, and if you enjoy her, you will enjoy her as she has some crookedness." Another narration reads: "The woman was created from a rib and will not remain straight for you in any way. So, if you enjoy her, you enjoy her as she has some crookedness. And if you try to straighten her, you will break her, and breaking her is divorcing her."

‘Imrān ibn Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) saw a person sitting aloof and not praying with the people. He asked him: "O so and so, what prevented you from offering the prayer with the people?" He replied: "O Messenger of Allah, I am ritually impure and there is no water." In response, the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You should use clean earth, and that will be sufficient for you."

#3052Authentic hadith· Muslim with its two versions

Anas ibn Mālik, (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that when Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) came to Mina, he went to "Jamrat al-‘Aqabah" and threw pebbles at it. After that, he went to his tent in Mina and sacrificed. Then, he called for a barber, pointed at the right side of his head, and said: "Shave from here." Then, he pointed at his left side and said: "Take (hair) from here." Then, he distributed his hair among the people. In another narration: "After he threw pebbles at "Jamarat al-‘Aqabah", he slaughtered his animal, then shaved his head. The barber started with the right side of his head, then he called Abu Talhah al-Ansāri and gave the hair to him. Then, he asked to shave his left side, and said: "Shave it!" The barber shaved it and he gave the hair to Abu Talhah. Then, he said: "Distribute it among the people!"

#3053Authentic hadith· Narrated by Muslim

Abu Sa‘īd al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Life in this world is sweet and green, and indeed, Allah has made you successors there to see how you will behave. So, be cautious of this world and be cautious of women, for indeed, the first temptation of the children of Israel was due to women."

Abu Tarīf ‘Adiyy ibn Hātim (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever takes an oath to do something and then he finds a better alternative which brings him closer to Allah should do what is better in piety."

Abu Sulaymān, Mālik ibn al-Huwayrith, (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: We came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) when we were young and of about the same age. We stayed with him for twenty nights. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was merciful and compassionate; so, he realized our longing for our families. He asked us about our families whom we had left behind and we told him about them. Thereupon, he said: "Go back to your families and stay with them. Teach them (religion) and command them (to adhere to it), perform so-and-so prayer at so-and-so time, and when prayer becomes due, let one of you call the Adhān and let the oldest among you lead you in prayer." Another version by Al-Bukhāri has this addition: "Pray as you saw me pray.”

Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported: I memorized from the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ten Rak‘ahs (units of prayer): two Rak‘ahs before Zhuhr and two Rak‘ahs after it, two Rak‘ahs after Maghrib at his home, two Rak‘ahs after ‘Ishā’ at his home, and two Rak‘ahs before the Fajr prayer, an hour when none was allowed to enter upon the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). Hafsah told me that after the muezzin would make Adhān (call to prayer) and after the break of dawn, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer two Rak‘ahs. Another wording reads: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer two Rak‘ahs after the Friday prayer.

Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) got up at night, he would cleanse his mouth with Siwak (tooth-stick).

‘Abdullāh ibn Zayd ibn ‘Āsim al-Māzini (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a complaint was made to the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) about the person who doubts that something (breaking his ablution) has happened to him during his prayer, and he said: "He should not leave (his prayer) unless he hears a sound or perceives a smell."

‘Ali ibn Abi Tālib (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) put me in charge of slaughtering his camels (which he wanted to sacrifice); and to give in charity their meat, skins, and saddle cloths; and not to give any of them to the butcher.

‘Ā'ishah, ‘Abdullāh ibn 'Umar, and Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with them) reported that the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If the Iqāmah for prayer is proclaimed, and the dinner is served, start with the dinner."
